Special thanks to our LPAA Happy Hour hosts tonight: Urban Farmer and The Nines. As always, outstanding wait staff and interesting and fun food – and just a warning, the happy hour moonshine drink is *ahem* strong! Leadership Portland Alum Laura Van Daal even donated a night stay at the fancy pants Nines to the winner of the drawing of the class with the largest turnout.

After all the class of 2008 smack talk, they only had one class member show up. I’ll pause here so you can all scoff….congratulations to the Class of 2005 with the most participants, and Heather Busse, winner of the stay at the Nines.

During the evening, we were all discussing who the next prize donor should be – we’ve had two hotel donations from previous class member (thanks to the Portland Marriott and The Nines). My suggestion to Elia Popovich, 2005, and Foster Pepper attorney (hint, hint) was an hour of legal services. Maybe two.

I proceeded to ask him two questions and he told me my bill for $300 was in the mail. Just like an attorney.

Have you missed the last few LPAA Happy Hours? Never been? Well, call a few people from your class and meet them on May 20, 5:30 p.m., at Urban Farmer in the swanky new Nines Hotel. You can’t beat the price: drinks and snacks are covered by the Leadership Portland Alumni Association.

The Class of 2008 is doing some smack talk about the fact that they show up at a 5:1 ratio, and normally take home the prize, (the class with the most attendees is put in a drawing) last month – a one night stay at the Portland Marriott.

Join us — in an economy like this — can you afford to pass up networking and, ahem, free drinks?

Energy is beginning to build! Thanks to all the folks who attended the happy hour at Roots last week. It was nice to see several classes represented. Cool people, great conversation.

 
To accommodate folks who have fixed meetings every month, we will vary the happy hour schedule with events on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday each month. For the blossoming month of April we will gather on Tuesday, April 14 at Touché, 1425 NW Glisan beginning at 5:30 ish. Call a classmate you want to reconnect with and plan to meet them at Touché on the 14th.

 We had a great group meet last night at Roots Brewing. Thank you to everyone that made the time to meet, share a few beverages and food. It was nice to meet new people and catch up with old friends, too.  I’d also like to thank Sue Melone for selecting another fabulous venue for us to meet.

Last night, a group of Leadership Portland Alumni gathered at Roots Brewing to chat, meet each other and have a good time. We celebrated one promotion and there was representation from every class since the first year, 2003, and even a current class member who got in a little early.
