About: Kaspar Murer
Kaspar Murer has spent the last 12 years as Director of Food & Beverage at Embassy Suites Portland Downtown, where he created plans and systems to match food quality and guest service to the splendor and elegance of the building. He has won acclaim and guest loyalty for the quality of food and service. His job has been eliminated in this current economic downturn. He is in transition into a new career.
Kaspar has a passion for supporting the elderly and less privileged. He has served as chair of Portland Dineout, a fundraiser for Meals-on-Wheels by Loaves and Fishes. He has also served as chair of the Oregon Culinary Tourism Association, president of the Oregon Club Managers Association, and was a board member of the Oregon Restaurant Association.
Kaspar has lived in Portland for over twenty years. He is married to Connie Cavagnaro, has two daughters, Katharine and Emily, and four grand children. He has recently started to learn playing the guitar and likes family events, dragon boat paddling, travel, staying physically fit, reading, learning, and working in the yard.
